Music industry mourns death of Juice WRLD

The Chicago-born rapper Juice WRLD has died at age 21, Illinois’ Cook County medical examiner’s office has confirmed. 

The rapper was pronounced dead at 3:15 am on Sunday morning after having suffered a seizure shortly after landing at Chicago Midway International Airport. 

Juice WRLD, whose birth name is Jarad Anthony Higgins, landed at the airport on Sunday morning local time, when he suffered a seizure and was rushed to a nearby hospital. According to ABC News, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. 

The cause of the seizure is not yet known.

The 21 year-old rapper was best-known for his viral 2018 hit Lucid Dreams. Topics like mental health, mortality and drug use were common themes in his music.

Juice celebrated his 21st birthday on 2 December 2019, and was prepping for the release of his third album. Many have jumped on social media to pay homage to the talented rapper.

Fans and friends of Juice WRLD took to social media to express their sorrow.

Fans paid homage to the rapper by tweeting about his success.

 

 

Earlier this year, the rap and hip hop communities also lost rapper Nipsey Hussle.
