With the UK now stuck in a second lockdown, people are starting to run out of things to do. But there’s nothing better than plopping down on your sofa and escaping into the wonderful world of games on your smartphone, secluded from the chaos of the outside world.

So if you’re a mobile gamer, Voice of London have taken on the tedious task of sorting through the multitude of action, puzzle and strategy games to bring you some of the popular and exciting titles you can play whilst stuck at home:

1. Among Us

There’s always that one game that makes the internet go crazy, I’m talking memes and reaction videos galore.

Among Us definitely made that list.

Though the game was launched in 2018, it suddenly came to rise during the covid pandemic and has become a popular part of lockdown culture.

The game sees ten players on a spaceship, working together to keep it running by doing demeaning tasks but not everything is as it seems.

At least 2 of those players are actually imposters, placed there to sabotage the ship and kill as many players as you can to win.

If you’re a crew-mate, you can win by completing your tasks as quickly as possible and by trying to find out who the imposters are and kick them off the ship before they kill your friends!

Mystery, a keen eye and intrigue at its finest, Among Us is available on Android, iOS and PC.

If you’re a fan of fighting games like Smash Bros, Brawlhalla is a pretty strong clone of it.

It’s a simple game, where you select a character and go head to head with up to seven other player-controlled characters where your objective is to knock out your opponents off the stage by damaging them repeatedly in a 2-D style brawl.

It’s a load of fun and once you start, it can be quite difficult to put your phone down.

This one is self explanatory.

We all know Call of Duty is famous on all major consoles and PCs but now the popular shooter game has people hooked on their smartphones too.

Players can choose to play ranked or non-ranked matches in multiplayer mode against their friends.

It also has two types of in-game currencies: “COD points” which have to be bought with real world money and “Credits” which are earned through playing the game.

Additionally the game offers special and limited multiplayer modes which may last for days, weeks or even for a whole game season.

These include: Capture the Flag, Prop Hunt, One Shot One Kill, Snipers Only and many more.

So strap your guns and ready your grenades for this fun, action-packed shooter game.
