On the 8th of December, Netflix released new stills from season 2 of the popular Shadow and Bone, along with the release date of the new season.
Season two is set to premiere on the 16th of March, introducing new characters and plot twists.
Season one of the show first premiered on the streaming service in 2021 and became an instant hit. Gathering old and new fanbases, Shadow and Bone is a show that closely followed the plot of the books. Despite some changes made by the producers, the show received positive feedback online.
The first season was packed with events, as the creators combined two of Bardugo’s book series into one season. The original book trilogy Shadow and Bone is labeled as a fantasy for young-adults and follows Alina Starkov, as she discovers her unique powers in the fantasy country of Ravka.
Six of Crows is a duology set in the same universe that follows Kaz Brekker, a criminal, and his crew as they attempt to carry out a heist.
Netflix combined the two book series in what turned out to be a successful TV show.
Alina, who is played by the rising star Jessie Mei Li, continues her fight for freedom alongside her best friend, Mal.
Ben Barnes will be reprising his role as the Darkling. A cunning villain who is fascinated with Alina’s powers, he attempts to use her as his pawn in his plan to conquer Ravka.
Patrick Gibson is Nikolai Lantsov, Prince of Ravka.
The assassin twins Tolya and Tamar, loyal only to Alina, will be played by Lewis Tan and Anna Leong Brophy.
On the other side of the world, Kaz Brekker is slowly assembling his crew.
Wylan Van Eck, who is the son of a very wealthy merchant in Ketterdam, is set to be portrayed by Jack Wolfe. A valuable asset for Kaz, Wylan would prove himself to the other members of the crew.
Mark your calendars for the 16th of March!
