Paul Gascoigne has been charged for sexually assaulting a woman on a train going from York to Durham.
The former England midfielder was arrested on August 20th for touching that violates Section 3 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
Gascoigne tweeted earlier today to deny the charges, stating that he “respects all women”. The tweet was later deleted however.
He will appear in front of Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on 11 December.
Gascoigne is most known his football career in the late 80’s and 90’s, in which he played for clubs such as Newcastle United, Tottenham and Lazio, as well as for the England national team.
