Have you been dreaming of a holiday in The Big Apple? Norse Atlantic Airways offers budget flights to New York.

If your New Year’s resolution is to travel more or you’ve been dreaming of a holiday across the Atlantic Ocean, the new Norse Atlantic Airways might be your new best friend. Describing themselves with the phrase “low price, high comfort”, this airline delivers on cheap flights to the United States.

Founded in 2021, Norse Atlantic Airways joined the group of other low-cost airlines such as EasyJet and RyanAir. But what makes this airline different is that their cheap prices extend all the way across the Atlantic Ocean, as they offer direct flights to JFK airport in New York straight from London.

It’s not rare to see flights to the United States cost over a thousand pounds and the flights that are lower in price often come with one or more stops, offering a side of additional travel stress with catching connecting flights.

You might be thinking there must be some kind of catch to the cheap prices: well, there kind of is. For Norse Atlantic Airways their cheapest Economy Light tickets only include an underseat bag. If you wish to bring a suitcase or even a carry-on you must purchase an Economy Classic ticket, which is nearly £100 added to the cheap price they advertise, taking the original £202 ticket to the price of £296 – £94 for a bag and a meal for your flight.

Norse Atlantic might not be the best airline choice for you if instead of New York you’re dreaming of a trip to Los Angeles or even Texas. The JFK airport in New York is currently their only destination in the US. They are however planning on new routes to the US.

So if you’re wishing to visit places elsewhere like Washington DC or Virginia, this might not be your cheapest option. For instance, a train from New York to Virginia Beach can take up to 11 hours and cost over 200$ – so flying straight to your destination with a different airline might be the more cost-effective option.

London Gatwick is an airport south of London

You can catch a Norse Atlantic flight from Gatwick Airport, where you can get easily by train either from Victoria, or using most Thameslink services. The trip usually ranges from 30 minutes to an hour.

While still not as cheap as RyanAir and other budget airlines, what they offer you is a transcontinental adventure, which is still much cheaper than British Airways. Just in time to experience that New York Christmas!
