Cyberpunk 2077’s map was leaked through a Reddit post. It is still unknown whether that’s the full map or only a portion of it as CD Project has not yet addressed the leak.

Cyberpunk 2077’s release is getting closer and closer and fans’ anticipation grows bigger by the day. The game will be out on April 16, as it was officially announced during the Xbox E3 conference, setting the bar higher than ever for this console generation’s games. But will it be able to surpass CD Project’s previous hit the Witcher 3?

The game is also said to be a bit shorter than the Witcher 3, although CD Project’s team claims that it will have more replay value.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, first-person, RPG (role-playing game) in which players will get the chance to play as V, who is a mercenary.

V’s missions take place in Night City, a metropolis set in the state of California which consists of six regions.

From the corporate City Centre to the gang-infested Pacifica, V can go looking for all sorts of foes and friends through the deep relationship system that the game introduces.

The leaked map is supposedly Night City, which was expected to be bigger, worrying fans that there won’t be much to explore. Expectations are high for CD Project as the Witcher 3’s map is one of the biggest ones to exist in the gaming world.

Cyberpunk 2077 also has an upgraded skills system which allows players to gain progression points throughout the game, boosting their attributes. Installing chips in V’s system can level up some of his skills as well.

The use of weapons, such as blades, shotguns and rifles throughout an action game is not something new, but Cyberpunk 2077 also allows players to complete missions without taking a life, offering non-lethal gameplay.

Ranged weapons come in three types, Power, Tech and Smart which can be personalised and modified to suit the players’ needs.

Though those who opt to indulge in hard-core combat will be able to improve V’s ability with a weapon, by using it repeatedly. The same goes for melee and hacking.

By completing side quests players can earn “street cred” which unlocks hidden skills and vendors as well as additional quests, influencing the game’s story and ending.

A 40-minute gameplay demo was shown to UK audiences for the first time during MCM London Comic-Con, convincing fans that Cyberpunk 2077 would be a next-gen console release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett.

Yet those who plan to invest in either of these consoles should not be disappointed as their systems support backwards compatibility preventing any games of getting dusty on the shelf.
