The RMT union has announced further rail strikes in November over pay and conditions.

The strikes on Network Rail will happen on 3, 5 and 7 November.

Strikes will also take place on London Underground and Overground networks on November 3 over a separate dispute.

After negotiations between Network Rail and the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT), an agreement was reached for the company to commit to better pay.

However, bosses at Network Rail went back on their promises by attempting to introduce job cuts and severe changes to working conditions.

RMT General Secretary Mick Lynch said: “Our members are livid with these duplicitous tactics and they will now respond in kind with sustained strike action.”

How will this affect you?

The extent of the impact of the strike is yet to become clear.

There will be disruption on a national level, and rail replacement buses will be running. However, there are expected to be delays on these services from the amount of people who will be using them.

More information on this from Voice of London as it comes.
