Hogwarts will welcome you home, January 2022

 

“Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home,” – J.K. Rowling.

The iconic trio, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint will be reunited on our screens alongside original director Christopher Columbus and a large handful of the cast in an HBO max special to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first film premiere. “Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts” will premiere on New Year’s Day 2022 on HBO Max.

“Harry Potter,” is one of the most recognised and spoken names of many generations since 1998. Written by JK Rowling, the stories were soon brought to life with the first film ‘Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone’ being released in 2001 and becoming the 13th most watched film worldwide, according to IMDB records.  The films soon became one of the most successful franchises of all time making a total box office avenue of $9,214,497,821, according to the-numbers.com.

These stories became a cultural phenomenon which created an interconnected universe worldwide. It has been a long time coming to see the cast reunited and to be submersed into the wizarding world once again.

 

 

What to expect:

According to HBO Max the feature will include “an enchanting making-of story through all-new, in-depth interviews and cast conversations.”

Other infamous cast members will be joining the special such as Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Felton, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs and many more.

It will be produced by Warner Bros and executive produced by Casey Patterson. Patterson commented on the production “There’s a magic in the air here with this incredible cast, as they all return home to the original sets of Hogwarts, where they began 20 years ago,” she also stated “the excitement is palpable as they prepare to take their fans on a very special and personal journey.”

Where to watch:

Although a UK streaming service or broadcaster to watch this special has not been announced yet, it will be aired on America’s HBO max January 1st 2022.
