This morning on the brand new nationwide Capital Breakfast show, Roman Kempconfirmed even more of the world’s hottest artists for Capital’s Summertime Ball, which takes place on Saturday 8th June at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium.
Maroon 5, Jess Glynne, Lauv, Ava Max, Jonas Blue and Mabel were announced on Capital Breakfast this morning. They join Halsey, Mark Ronson, Jonas Brothers, 5 Seconds of Summer, Khalid and Ellie Goulding on the bill for the UK’s hottest summer party, with even more huge names set to be revealed on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp tomorrow morning.
Kicking off the second day of announcements, Capital Breakfast’s Roman Kemp confirmed that Maroon 5 will play Capital’s Summertime Ball. Maroon 5 are one of the world’s biggest bands and best-selling artists. The three-time Grammy award winners have sold tens of millions of albums worldwide and are flying in to perform their massive hits for Capital listeners. Their latest single ‘Girls Like You’ featuring Cardi B topped charts across the globe, including the Billboard Hot 100. In February, they wowed a global audience of 100 million with a spectacular half time show at the Super Bowl, and this June 80,000 Capital listeners will be singing along to their epic anthems in Wembley Stadium.
One of the UK’s biggest solo stars Jess Glynne will return to play Capital’s Summertime Ball. The Grammy Award winning, multi-platinum selling singer has had a massive eight number ones on The Official Big Top 40. Her irresistibly uplifting hits are guaranteed to have Capital listeners on their feet at the UK’s hottest summer party.
US singer-songwriter Lauv will also join the bill for Capital’s Summertime Ball. The platinum-selling singer and pop visionary has one of the hottest songs in the world right now with hit single “i’m so tired” with Troye Sivan.
Roman Kemp continued the morning of announcements with the news that rising pop sensation Ava Max will make her Capital’s Summertime Ball debut this June. Ava Max scored one of the biggest hits of the year so far with the worldwide smash hit ‘Sweet but Psycho’, which spent three weeks at the top of The Official Big Top 40. The hotly tipped star topped Billboard’s ‘Emerging Artists’ chart and was named by influential US magazine PAPER as one its ‘100 People Taking Over 2019’. Her Summertime Ball set will not be one to miss.
Following a blockbuster past year led by his global smash ‘Rise’ ft Jack & Jack and ‘Polaroid’ with Liam Payne and Lennon Stella, Jonas Blue is guaranteed to get the party started at Capital’s Summertime Ball. His debut album ‘Blue’ is packed with massive dance anthems, including ‘Fast Car’, ‘Perfect Strangers’ and ‘Mama’. Capital listeners can look forward to another high energy set from the unstoppable producer/songwriter.
Roman rounded up the morning’s announcements by confirming Mabel for Capital’s Summertime Ball. Since winning the Rising Star award at the inaugural Global Awards in 2018, Mabel has achieved phenomenal success. Her latest single ‘Don’t Call Me Up’ charted at number 3 in the Official Big Top 40, entered the top 10 most streamed songs in the world and is one of the biggest-selling singles of 2019. The multi-million best-selling singer and songwriter will take to the stage at Wembley just weeks before her hotly anticipated debut studio album ‘High Expectations’ drops, before going on tour with fellow Summertime Baller Khalid later in the year.
