Gemma Collins Plans to Sue After Fall at Radio 1 Teen Awards

Following on from Sunday’s Radio 1 Teen Awards ceremony, The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) star, Gemma Collins has stated that she will be consulting a lawyer.

Footage of the reality TV star falling down a trap door in the middle of the stage, started to emerge all over social media Sunday night. The fall happened just moments after announcing the Love Island winners, where Collins took a step backwards and dropped into the trap door which raised them on a platform from below the stage.

Collins did not leave it long before tweeting followers to reassure them she was still alive but in an interview with The Sun, she has now said: “I could have died or at least been disabled at the end of it.”

The 36-year-old claims to have been left with “bruising” from the incident and said: “The BBC, they’ve not been in touch with any compensation or anything — or even an apology.”

Despite having a laugh at her own expense, Collins insists that the incident could have been much worse and puts it down to negligence on the BBC’s part for failing to brief her properly on the procedures. She told The Sun: “Not at one point did she say, ‘If you move to the right you are going to fall.’”

The TOWIE star has now said she will be looking further into the case through consulting a lawyer and has plans to sue the BBC.
