A 21-year-old arrested for carrying a 17-inch blade in North London

A man has been jailed for carrying a knife in North London. Yahya Abdullah, 21, was sentenced to nine months in prison, Metropolitan Police says.

 

Abdullah was involved in a car crash in Copenhagen Street on July 24 and got out of one of the vehicles with a 17-inch knife. He was seen running away and discarding the weapon behind a gate in Twyford Street. No one was hurt.

 

After several inquiries and CCTV footage review, the Police was able to identify him He had pledged guilty for this crime earlier in September.

 

 

Knife crime incidents in London are on the rise. Three men have been arrested in Lewisham over a triple stabbing attack which wounded 19, 20 and 23-year-olds. The victims are still in the hospital.

 

On a separate incident, another three men have been arrested over the stabbing of a 16-year-old in Brixton, who is also still fighting for his life.

Again, a 15-year-old boy was stabbed in Stratford. He died on the scene. The attacker, another 15-year-old, was arrested.

 

These are just some of the recent chapters in violence amongst youth in London.
