Extinction Rebellion wins High Court battle against protest ban

Climate change protesters Extinction Rebellion (XR) have won a High Court battle against a police ban on protests throughout London.

During their ‘autumn uprising’ last month Extinction Rebellion had a four-day ban imposed on their protests by police, stopping them from protesting anywhere in London.

While the Met Police argued the ban was the only way of tackling disruption caused by protests, XR’s lawyers described the action as “hastily imposed”.
