Hours after sacking Maurício Pochettino, the London club announce the arrival of decorated Portuguese manager José Mourinho, on a contract valid until 2023.
Mourinho has been out of work since leaving Manchester United last season. In recent interviews, he had already shown interest in picking up a new position in the Premier League.
His first game in charge of Tottenham will be against West Ham, next Saturday. The game will be at the London Stadium at 12:30 PM.
The former Chelsea manager won the Premier League in his two stints at the West London club and lifted the Champions League trophy twice with FC Porto and Inter Milan.
Chairman Daniel Levy said about the new coach: “In Jose we have one of the most successful managers in football. He has a wealth of experience, can inspire teams and is a great tactician. He has won honours at every club he has coached. We believe he will bring energy and belief to the dressing room.”
