West Ham United have given lifetime bans to two fans who invaded the pitch during Wednesday’s 1-3 loss to Tottenham at the London Stadium.
The two fans came out wearing Halloween masks around the 70-minute mark, when the score was 1-2. After the game both fans were arrested and charged by police.
West Ham United wrote in a statement: “Encroaching the pitch is a criminal offence that will not be tolerated by the Club.”
The club is currently a tenant at the former Olympic Stadium and pay over £3 million in rent per year. This is one of many similar incidents that West Ham has faced following troubled move from Upton Park.
In a game with Burnley back in March, there were five pitch invaders, all of which were promptly banned for life. The club is still waiting to hear if it will be sanctioned by the Football Association for their fan’s actions.
