Exclusive: Banksy mural vandalised days after it was uncovered

Banksy’s hidden artwork was vandalised just days after it was uncovered from behind building works.

The Banksy mural from 2008 was unveiled in Notting Hill this past week.

The mural is located in the heart of Notting Hill at the corner of Acklam and Portobello Road.

It is widely known as ‘The Painter’ and illustrates famous Spanish painter Diego Velázquez holding a paintbrush and writing Banksy’s name in big red graffiti style letters.

However, someone decided to give Banksy’s piece an additional detail on its left corner.

Luckily the mural is covered by glass that protects it. That way the original artwork remains undamaged.
