Although there is a drop in the Covid-19 positive cases in the UK, sadly in London cases are remaining high with ten per cent of East Londoners testing positive.
According to London Evening Standard, Professor Kevin Fenton, London director for Public Health England, urged people to stick to social distancing and self-isolation rules ahead of the first weekend since lockdown was lifted.
On 2 December 2020, there were 1,493 Covid-19 patients in London hospitals. This compares with 1,478 patients on 25 November 2020.
Test and Trace data show that the daily number of new people tested positive for the virus in London was reported as 2,081 with 168,285 total cases reported on 3 December 2020.
Mayor Sadiq Khan told LBC yesterday: “If we are not careful we could see the virus surging again and us as a city going into Tier 3 or there being [another] national lockdown.”
