Topshop caters to a wide demographic of people from the cool kids to the sophisticated stylish bloggers. It has around 500 shops worldwide of which 300 are based in the UK. One of the main successes is the several concessions it is home to, from classic 80’s vintage jewelry, personal shoppers, to elegant red carpet boutique dresses, it has undoubtedly proven to be one of the top retail brands and competitors in the UK, setting itself apart from other stores with its ability to have an ora of inclusiveness, while still having a quirky edge to it overall.
The many concessions that Topshop is home to has many stark similarities to that of Selfridges and Harrods in the sense that you are able to go to each floor and discover something completely different, almost like you are in a completely different store in fact.
They are well on their way to revolutionizing the shopping experience as they have expanded in to having a barbers on the mens floor and even a tattoo and piercing department on the bottom floor which is home to all the non Topshop brands such as Celeb Boutique and Office shoes.
Being one of the first stores to have a DJ at the entrance of the store, instead of a CD with songs so repetitive that you begin to sing along to them begrudgingly, the blast of throwbacks and current songs can be heard from streets almost acting as the modern day pied piper, attracting you to the store, then before you know it you have walked out the store with photo booth pictures (oh that’s another delight that they have on the third floor) and a personalized necklace.
We decided to take a full tour of all the different concessions Topshop has to offer to try and gain a true insight in to what each concession actually delivered to customers. It seemed as if each corner of the store had something interesting filling out the space apart from edgy, stylish clothes
