Super Sub Anthony Martial salvages three points for Manchester United

Anthony Martial scored the only goal of the game between Manchester United and Tottenham to kick off this weekend’s Premier League football.

In the last ten minutes of the second half, Romelu Lukaku headed the ball forwards to give Martial a clear scoring chance; and the Frenchman didn’t miss, netting his fourth league goal after coming off the bench.

Martial came on as a substitute replacing Marcus Rashford in the 70th minute.

The first ten minutes of the game were dominated by Manchester United and it looked as though the Red Devils were ready to go all out against Spurs.

However, as the first half progressed, Spurs began to settle and maintained possession of the ball until the end of the first period.

The second half started in a similar fashion, although United had a little surge forward around the 50th minute mark.

Spurs’ best chance of the game came on 77 minutes when Christian Eriksen found Dele Alli in the box, who managed to get a touch on the ball but only to fire it wide.

United are still yet to concede a goal at home in the Premier League this season.
