The festival announcement that everyone is waiting for has finally been announced and some big names have been revealed. With Billie Eilish, Imagine Dragons and Lewis Capaldi all set to headline at Reading and Leeds.
It will be held on the next August bank holiday weekend, from the 25th to the 27th, 2023, and the tickets will be on sale next Monday at 9am here.
Some of the headliners on Friday will be Sam Fender and Foals among others. The festival will continue on Saturday with Lewis Capaldi, The Killers and Central Cee, and it will close on Sunday with Billie Eilish, Imagine Dragons and Steve Lacy. This is only the beginning as the poster indicates that there are “many more [artists] to be announced”.
Some artists have already shown their excitement about the event. “READING & LEADS WE’RE COMING FOR YOU” posted Imagine Dragons on Instagram.
“I first went to Leeds festival 10 years ago as a teenager”, commented Sam Fender, “One night I was out cold in my tent from necking a bottle of vodka at Eagles of Death Metal my tent got set alight – some fine young hero from Sheffield pissed out the fire to save me. Thankfully because of that lad whose name I can’t remember, I didn’t perish in the flames, little did he know he’d just saved Reading and Leeds’s 2023 headliner. See you down the front x”.
Meanwhile, FOALS said on Twitter “We’re so hyped to bring the heat back to Reading & Leeds. See you in the pit next Summer”.
“NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW IT FEELS LOOKING AT THIS @officialrandl SOSO BUZZING X” Lewis Capaldi commented on an Instagram.
Asking some young Londoners their feelings about 2023’s lineup, this is what they told to Voice of London:
“Tbh, they’ve had better line ups. the only ones i’m excited for is Billie Eilish and Steve Lacy” says Ana (21), “I think that Central Cee is cool but I’m not really bothered about the performers this year”.
“I think this is an incredible lineup, I mean you’ve got Billie Eilish, Lewis Capaldi, Sam Fender, just loads of my favourite artists really, I don’t even care that Lewis Capaldi isn’t a rock artist, he’s an icon and having him on any lineup instantly makes it better” says Laura (20).
The ticket’s prices will be available once they go on sale. These are the locations:
