Huge turnout expected for Brexit march

More than a 100,000 people are expected to take part in the People’s Vote March for the Future this Saturday 20 October to demand a final vote on Brexit.

The protest centres around the issue that people did not sign up for a bad deal when they voted in 2016. They are demanding a final referendum before the current Brexit situation accelerates any further.

The Independent’s Final Say campaign is collaborating with the People’s Vote March to make the event “the most important protest of our generation”, according to their website.

The event has already been backed by Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London in his latest tweet.

Deborah Meaden, businesswoman has also endorsed the protest through her social media encouraging #PeoplesVote.

With over 67,000 followers on their Twitter page, the campaign encourages people for and against Brexit to join them in marching, as “nobody voted to make this country worse off, to harm jobs, to damage the NHS, to affect the future of millions of young people, or to make this country more divided”. It has also attracted the support of Liberal Democrats, Conservative and Labour MPs, according to the Evening Standard.

When and Where is the march?

The march will start from Park Lane outside the Hilton Hotel and will continue through central London until Parliament Square, where speeches will commence from 2:00 pm.
