This will mark the 50th edition of Glastonbury, a milestone in festivals, making it one of the longest running in the world. Paul McCartney has been at the top of the rumours list for many months now after revealing he was “thinking about it” to BBC Radio 2.

Wolf Alice and Diana Ross are the only other artists officially confirmed for the festival, which is to take place in Somerset, from June 24-28. Supergrass are amongst those rumoured to join, after their reunion in September.

The ‘Hey Jude’ singer released his new album Egypt Station earlier in the year to coincide with the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ Abbey Road album. The festival confirmed his appearance this afternoon.

The first wave of tickets sold out in just 34 minutes, however there is another chance to secure tickets to 2020’s festival during the re-sell in April.
