Out of the selection, my eye drew towards the rosemary potatoes, flash steak, and the Sicilian lemon cheesecake. The excitement of going home to a fancy pre-made meal was too much too handle.
Dinnertime comes around, and the potatoes go in the oven. The steak gets two minutes on each side and the cheesecake chills in the fridge. Food plated and without further hesitation, I tuck into the amazingly… bland and tasteless steak. The meat is dry, no amount of garlic and soy sauce could flavour it up. How disappointing. Perhaps the potatoes are better? No. Actually, I would have preferred the steak alone. The rosemary is bitter and adds a rather displeasing aftertaste, complementing the disaster of the previous mouthful. The meal left me wholly unsatisfied. Oh lemon cheesecake, please taste good! Alas, the cheesecake tops the tumbling tower of disaster. The cheese is sour and the cake felt as bitter as the rosemary.
To say that the dine in for two was worth the £10 would be a stretch. I feel completely deflated and do not have the courage to go back and give it another shot.
