It’s the season of giving! 5 charities you should donate to this Christmas

For this festive season, why not try and do something for those who aren’t as fortunate as we are?

Christmas is the holiday most of us look forward to each year. It’s the time to spend with family, be thankful and of course, get a lot of gifts!

However some people may not be as lucky as we are. Scroll down to see a list of charities running different kinds of christmas donations.

  1. The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is a church and a registered charity. This month you can support their Christmas Present Appeal by donating unwrapped gifts for children who may not receive one otherwise.

  1. Oxfam

Oxfam offers a great variety of Christmas donations distributed across the globe. It is possible to donate a farm animal to support poor families in third world countries,  support a refugee or beat poverty in the UK, starting from just £5.

  1. Centrepoint

 

Centrepoint is a charity that supports homeless young people in the UK by helping them to find jobs and homes everyday.

For Christmas, they offer the option for you to donate and give a present to the homeless youth. Anything from Christmas dinner, to a New Year starter box to get them back on their feet.

  1. IMPACT Foundation

 

IMPACT is a foundation that aims on stopping disability caused by diseases lack of knowledge or shortage of medical services.

For the holiday, they offer a £40 Christmas gift that will fund an operation to repair the cleft lip of a child in Africa or Asia.

  1. Community Christmas

Community Christmas is a charity that believes that “no elderly person in the UK should be alone on Christmas Day unless they want to be”.

They encourage you to get involved and provide companionship to elderly people during this important holiday thorough lunch events or organising film viewings. You can also donate  £5 to help them carry these activities for the Christmas Holiday.
