After 64 minutes into the game, the players of Haringey walked out of a match against Yeovil following claims of racist abuse.
Once again racism sadly found its way the football world on Monday the 14th of October.
The home-players decided to leave the field shortly after Yeovil scored the first goal. The football club, as well as the fans, showed clear disgust towards such behaviours.
The Haringey Club later Twitted: “It must be said that 99.9% of @YTFC fans are also disgusted by what’s happened as much as we are.”
The goalkeeper of the club was being spat at and thrown bottles on. These behaviours were not tolerated in anyways from both teams.
Players from Haringey as well as Yeovil came back to the field showing beautiful solidarity.
This sad issue recurring on a regular basis in the football world has known some recent stories like the one during England’s Euro Qualifier 2022 in which racist chants were aimed at Tyrone Mings and Raheem Sterling.
The Football Association did not comment on this event. But both teams have expressed their discontent and anger towards racism in the sport.
