The Chinese team, FPX, dominated their opponent G2 Esports and secured the first place at the Grand Final.
FunPlus Phoenix managed to beat European team G2 Esports with score 3-0 and winning the 9th world tournament of the multiplayer online game League of Legends.

Earlier this month, G2 Esports showed exceptionally strong team play by defeating the three-time world champion SK Telecom T1 at the semi-final stage.
The tournament took place in Paris and it was watched by more than 500,000 people on Twitch – an online live-streaming platform for players. Meanwhile, Fnatic (a professional esports club based in London), organized a viewing party at The Clapham Grand in London for all of the fans seeking to share the emotion of watching the finals live. A similar event was also hosted by Red Bull at Red Bull Gaming Sphere, London. Cosplayers like Leon Chiro, Enji Night and Tabitha Lyons were part of the viewing party.

Gao Tian-Liang, also known as “Tian” the jungler of FPX, had the honor of receiving the award for most valuable player for his great performance at the World Championship Finals 2019.
“I was planning my career retirement, but my girlfriend supported me throughout the whole journey and I gave myself one more year” Kim Tae-sang (FPX’s mid-laner) told the League of Legends’ reporter Sjokz.

During the finals, China officially announced that it will be the host country of the World League of Legends Championship in 2020.
