Hundreds of rush hour passengers are evacuated from the station because of an incident on the tracks.
The station is now open, however severe delays are expected.
In a Tweet, Victoria Line reported:
“We’re operating with severe delays to all destinations due to an earlier customer incident.
“Tickets accepted on Southeastern, South Western Railway, Great Northern and Overground train services.”
What happened?
At about 7:15am every entrance to the Tube station – one of London’s busiest – was blocked due to a casualty on the tracks.
Emergency services were called to the scene, including police cars, fire engines and ambulances.
A spokeswoman for London Fire Brigade has said a woman in her 60s had fallen on the tracks, suffering an ankle injury.
The closure led to other tubes stations, like Stockwell, struggle to operate because of overcrowding.
The rush hour chaos is likely to impact other commuters throughout the day.
