Elon Musk & Jeff Bezos aim to save the planet

Often the world’s wealthiest and most powerful people are viewed critically by society simply because of their fortune. However, recently Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos stepped up to help the planet.

David Beasley, the director of the United Nations’ World Food Programme (WFP), challenged billionaires by claiming that $6bn or 0.36% of the net worth of billionaires in the US, including Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk, could directly aid 42 million people globally and tackle the hunger issue.

Elon Musk decided to respond to Beasleys’ claims on Twitter by agreeing to contribute to solving the hunger crisis if the public knows how the financial resources will be used:

However, David Beasley said that the headline of the article of his statements was “not accurate”:

Elon Musk shared a link to the article, published by the Express that questions the reliability of UN’s activity:

On the contrary, David Beasley invited Musk to meet and show how World Food Programme operates:

Moreover, recently David Beasley tweeted a few more responses encouraging Elon Musk to contribute to improving the world and proving that WFP is a credible organisation:

Here are some of the most recent tweets from the public responding to Elon Musk and David Beasley’s conversation:

Another powerful billionaire, Jeff Bezos, decided to financially contribute to saving landscapes and changing “food systems” through the Bezos Earth Fund by spending $2bn or £1.5bn.

This information was revealed in the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow.

Besides the Bezos Earth Fund, Bezos himself is willing to spend over “$10bn fighting climate change overall.”

Here are some of the public opinion responses on Twitter:
