With Christmas just around the corner, the Voice of London has your holiday watchlist covered with these five ‘tantalising treats’.
The ‘most wonderful time of the year’ has arrived. As Christmas edges closer, people have begun planning. It is the season of festivities and togetherness, however, 2020 has been nowhere near ‘normal’, compared to other years.
As the UK eases the lockdown and London moves to Tier 2, in which people are asked to stay inside with their households and support bubbles, the big Christmas dinners and some sightseeing activities have been cancelled.
That doesn’t stop people from enjoying the ambience at home. Streaming platforms have set plans for their viewers to get into a festive mood while relaxing with their close ones.
Here are five shows that you can binge-watch at home during this month to manifest the Christmas spirit.
An American festive love story based on David Levithan and Rachel Cohn’s book, ‘Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares’. It is a series about two teenagers: Lily, played by Midori Francis, who adores the Christmas spirit of New York City, whereas Dash, played by Austin Abrams, despises it. Forget dating apps, here’s to bringing back the old tradition of love as these two discover one another through a book of dares.
He loves Christmas. He lives Christmas. He is even called Mr Christmas. Meet William Benjamin Bradley, an interior designer, who owns 3000 Christmas decorations, which earned him the title. He is set to transform people’s home for the holiday season over the course of four joyful episodes.
“It smells like Christmas,” as four teams of bakers compete with one another for a cash prize of $10,000. After a successful first season, the Christmas themed baking competition has returned, with Hunter March hosting it. Candace Nelson and Adriano Zumbo return as judges, along with several celebrity guest judges to be seen over the season.
Don’t we all want a Christmas version of Love Island? Maybe not everybody, but it’s here. A reality show based on the season of love and snow. Consisting of 12 dates from which they all have to choose who they will take home for Christmas in a span of eight episodes. With lots of romance, comedy, and drama, we’ll find out if it will be “merrily ever after” or a cold December for the hopelessly romantic singles.
Double the celebration. Double the drama. All hell breaks loose when a South-African dysfunctional family comes together to celebrate a wedding on the Christmas day. The three-part series boasts a stellar ensemble cast and promises to be high on entertainment.
