On behalf of The Voice Of London I was invited down to the launch where I was given an insight into the new products and what’s available..

Liquid matte has taken the lipstick world by storm, and more so since Kylie Jenner released her own line of lip kits. The reality star immediately sold out of her range and continues to do so every time she restocks.

Due to the popularity of her kits, we have seen a huge rise in liquid matte lipsticks from other high-end beauty brands such as M.A.C, Huda Beauty, SmashBox, Lime Crime and now Chanel have released their own special formula fronted by Kristen Stewart.

For the release of their range of liquid matte lipsticks Rouge Allure Ink, Chanel has opened a new beauty boutique in Spitalfields Market, London. To celebrate the release of the products at the boutique, Chanel collaborated with Glamour Magazine’s beauty director Alessandra Steinherr and celebrity make up artist Zoe Taylor to host an event to the public.

I was invited along to the store where attendees would receive a complimentary make over from Chanel make-up artists to suit their skin tones, a beauty master class with Zoe Taylor who has worked with a range of celebrities including Rihanna, Bella Hadid and Jenna Coleman, as well as a luxury goody bag featuring an exclusive make up bag which you’re unable to purchase otherwise.

Outside is adorned with well placed posters, each in shades of the lip colours featuring quotes or Kristen Stewart images. The store itself inside is beautifully lit and laid out with Chanel’s entire range of make up on the left side and perfumes on the right. Steinherr claimed that: “I walked into the store the day before it opened and was like, “Wow this is exactly how I’d want my beauty wardrobe displayed, this is it’”. The new lipstick range is position in the middle of the room as its main feature.

During a very intimate master class with Zoe Taylor which lasted for half an hour, a guest is picked to have their make up done using the new range from Chanel including their ‘Architectonic’ eye shadow palette, a beautiful take on the smoky eye with matte and shimmering hues. The ‘Joues Contraste’ blusher that is a fluorescent pinks in appearance, but beautifully sheer on application. Unsurprisingly the main focus was for the lipstick with a range of eight colours. On sale for £26, many of the colours have already sold out in stores including Alessandra’s favourite ‘152 Choquant’, she reveals: “It’s my favourite Chanel Rouge Ink. It is literally sold out everywhere at the moment.”

Chanel promises a deeply pigmented but weightless long lasting liquid matte lipstick with eight-hour coverage for a ‘daring allure that never goes unnoticed’.  Zoe Taylor informs us: “ It’s 50% ink and 50% matte lipstick. It wont budge even if you’re eating or drinking and it really does last all day.” This was reiterated several times by Chanel make up artist Aimee Foster, 24 who was in charge of my make up.

Created using natural waxes and oils, the matte lipstick ensures to keep your lips relieved from the dryness usually associated with liquid matte lipsticks. To ensure longevity, Taylor tells us: “I personally always use a lip liner underneath the lipstick – you can use it on top of the lipstick, but underneath it just helps to create and maintain a sharp edge, not that this lipstick bleeds.”

Alessandra is humble and grateful when receiving praise for the event tonight and is keen to talk about upcoming events she’s working on. When asked about Glamour Magazine’s hugely successful beauty festival earlier this year she tells me: “I’m working on the second beauty festival now, I’m currently just locking in brands and guests for the speakers.” While she wont reveal who’s been selected to feature at the two day event, she does inform me “The festival is going to be earlier next year, it’s going to be in March around the 11th – 13th.”

While you may have to wait a while for a huge beauty event like the Glamour Beauty Festival, head down to Chanel’s Spitalfield’s store now to find out your perfect Rouge Allure Ink for some everyday glamour.
