Breaking: Warwickshire police successfully resolve leisure centre siege

Police has arrested a suspected gunman after a four-hour armed siege at a bowling alley in Nuneaton. 

Warwickshire police officers were called to scene at approximately 14:30 BST due to reports of an armed man who had taken two staff members hostage at MFA Bowl in Bermuda Park.

A man was arrested after a ”series of loud bangs” were heard at around 18:30 BST.

The suspect was treated at the scene, while two other men managed to escape uninjured, West Midlands Ambulance Service told the BBC.

MFA Bowl chief executive Mehdi Amshar told the BBC: “I understand the latest news is that the police have stormed the building and the gunman has been captured and taken away.”

Mr. Amshar told the BBC that the gunman was an acquaintance to one of his staff.

The gunman was described by eyewitnesses as being in his 40s with a gun slung over his shoulder.
