Two Years Over In 14 Seconds: What’s Next For Cheryl?

Global superstar Cheryl enters a new chapter in her life with new music, a new man…and perhaps a new baby?

Indefinitely branded as the ‘Nations Sweetheart’ back in 2009, Cheryl began her solo career after leaving the hugely successful girl band ‘Girls Aloud.’ She was happily married and in high spirits, with her debut single ‘Fight For This Love’ selling over one million copies in the UK, and charting at number one in over 13 countries across Europe. Since then, her career has continued to grow, with Cheryl now holding the record for the most number one singles achieved by any UK female artist…ever; Fight For This Love (2009), Promise This (2010), Call My Name (2012), Crazy Stupid love (2014) and I Don’t Care (2014).

Unfortunately for Cheryl, her personal life over recent years does not seem to have been so effortlessly successful, with her divorce from cheating footballer Ashley Cole becoming one of the biggest media storms over a celebrity relationship of the past decade. It is unsurprising that fans were overwhelmed when Cheryl revealed her secret marriage to Jean Bernard Fernandez-Versini on Instagram, after only just three months of dating.

Although largely unknown to the British public, Cheryl’s new French hubby Jean Bernard looked caring and protective in the numerous paparazzi shots, which were the result of the gorgeous couple being hounded day and night by the press. The two single choices which followed, Crazy Stupid Love and I Don’t Care, made by Cheryl and her team from her fourth solo studio album ‘Only Human’, are about being happily and completely in love with somebody new, with the first song including Cheryl singing “You got me flying, don’t wanna ever come down,” and the second even including the line “Ask me how I’m doing now, I scream aloud I’m telling them I don’t care.’

Things were looking great for Cheryl in 2014, but to the devastation of her adoring fans, this wasn’t set to continue. Cheryl’s position as an X Factor judge on the 2015 series of the ITV show highlighted her dramatic weight loss and crushed spirits, causing widespread alarm within the media.

Following the final of the X Factor 2015 in December of that year, the couple released a statement informing the public that they were set to divorce due to “irreconcilable differences”, and now, almost a year later, Cheryl has been granted her wish in a 14 second divorce court hearing where neither party wished to contest anything about the settlement, leaving the pair now officially divorced. Both parties have signed  a strict confidentiality agreement.

So, what is next for Cheryl?

Well, she is now dating one of the world’s most famous boyband members Liam Payne, is in the middle of recording her yet untitled fifth studio album with rumoured collaborations including Justin Bieber, Rita Ora, Rihanna and of course her new boyfriend Liam. To top all that off, it is highly speculated (and pictured) that our Cheryl might be expecting her first baby. After years of turbulent relationships, could this be it for her? We sure hope so.
