Timothée Chalamet and Steve Carell attend the Beautiful Boy premiere at London Film Festival

On Saturday the stars of Beautiful Boy, Timothée Chalamet and Steve Carell, attended the film’s premiere at the London Film Festival in Leicester Square.

Chalamet, 22, tried to meet every fan waiting on the red carpet

The film is a biographical drama based on the best-selling memoirs by David Sheff and his son Nic Sheff which tell the journey of Nic’s drug addiction.

The Call Me By Your Name star signed Beautiful Boy books and magazines featuring him as the cover star

Chalamet, who stars as Nic, said playing someone in real life “makes you nervous cause you don’t want to get it wrong”.

Carell plays Nic’s dad and said he related to David as a father himself: “I have two teenagers and the fact this man had to go through what he went through and deal with this terrible addiction of his son, I’m constantly looking for wood to knock because it could happen to anyone.”

Chalamet looked handsome in an Alexander McQueen suit

Nic and David Sheff, director Felix Van Groeningen, and screenwriter Luke Davies also took to the red carpet.

Beautiful Boy will be in UK cinemas 18 January.
