The highest-paid YouTube star of 2018 is a seven-year-old boy

YouTube have released their list of the highest-paid YouTube stars of 2018. The list features Logan and Jake Paul, PewDiePie, and Jeffree Star amongst others.

Brand partnerships, sponsored ads and affiliate links are just some of the ways for content creators to make money. People who post on the platform can earn millions each year.

The highest earner for 2018 was YouTube star RyansToysReviews, who earned a massive £17.2 million this year, according to Forbes.

With 17 million subscribers and videos that have been watched 25 billion times, the seven-year-old has beaten Jake Paul for the top spot by over £300,000.

Ryan’s videos see him reviewing and playing with toys — his most popular video, which has amassed 1.6 billion views, sees him running around an inflatable water slide gathering eggs filled with toys.

He even now has his own range of toys available in Walmart in the USA.

It may be surprising that the highest-paid YouTube star of 2018 is a seven-year-old boy, with no females making the list. Last year the highest earning female of 2017 was Lilly Singh having made £8.2 million — although she was only 10th on the entire list.
