Another football Saturday is over. So, to keep you entertained before super Sunday kicks off, we have taken it upon ourselves to compile a list of the best post match memes the internet has to offer.
Words: Ena Bilobrk, Jack Everitt
Let’s begin with the match that was always going to cause the most talking points…
Chelsea v Liverpool 1-3
The Chelsea losing streak continues. Mourinho’s troubles continue to grow and finishing in the top four places are looking like a very difficult task for the Blues. But as long as this form continues the meme’s will keep flowing.
Swansea v Arsenal 0-3
Mesut Ozil can not stop assisting. Dream team Ozil and Giroud have struck again and you wonder how their relationship has become so effective. Is there anyone in football that Ozil could not assist? Torres may be on his way to the Emirates very soon… Campbell paid a visit to the Mesut-Help-Centre today and turned another brilliant pass into a screamer.
Watford v West Ham 2-0
As soon as you thought nothing could stop Slaven Bilic and his Hammers, Waford come along and spoil the party. West ham fans were dreaming of the Champions league last week, but were brought back down to Earth with an almighty bang. Odion Ighalo, the man Watford wanted to sell in the summer, was on fire again and scored a double in the London derby.
West Brom v Leicester 2-3
The final match the Internet embraced was West Brom against Leicester. Were they raving about Mahrez scoring two goals in seven minutes? No, It was all about Jamie Vardy. The England man, who is only two games away from equaling Ruud van Nistelrooy’s league record of scoring in eight consecutive Premier League games. Is there anything Jamie Vardy can’t do?
And because Jurgen Klopp is a newbie to the English Saturday silliness, we will dedicate the ending to his greatest win… so far. There is no doubt we will be seeing a lot more of him in the coming months.
