The Turner Prize, organised by the Tate, is awarded to a British artist under the age of 50 for an outstanding exhibition in the preceding year. It introduces us to new artists and new ideas in contemporary art. Previous winners include Damien Hirst, Grayson Perry and Gillian Wearing.

The nominees for this year are Bonnie Camplin, Janice Kerbel, Nicole Wermers and architectural collective Assemble.

The winner will receive a £25,000 prize, which will be revealed by Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth. It will be broadcast on Channel 4 tonight at 7.30pm.
