‘GQ’: Men Of The Year Party

The 20th anniversary of GQ Men of the Year party happened last night, including honours to Barack Obama, Tom Brady, Will Smith and Johnny Depp.

The men’s fashion and style magazine hosted its annual celebratory bash in Los Angeles at Chateau Marmot on Thursday night.  The popular venue where the event was held was attended by many stars on the red carpet. The special edition of the magazine features Barack Obama on the cover to commemorate the 20 years of the ‘the best and the brightest’. Also in the magazine, a white house Q&A with the president. Editor and chief, Jim Nelson said on Snapchat it was “the biggest party of the year times 20. Celebrating the heroes and accomplishments.”

Comedy actress and best friend of Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Schumer was also seen mixing drinks at the bar during the event. The Trainwreck star has spoken out against gun crime in the wake of the San Bernardino Mass Shooting, using her social media to bring awareness to her fans.

X-Men star James Marsden appeared describing the qualities of what it means to be a GQ man: “Powerful, successful, confident, style, style.” The actor has previously been titled as their best dressed man.

Presenter Jimmy Kimmel claimed he honestly didn’t not know how to use snapchat. When given the phone to record the snap he said: “What do I do? I don’t know how to use it. I’m old.”

Kylie Jenner was seen hanging with her friends at the bash. ‘Boyfriend’ Tyga attended the event too. The couple posed seperately on the red carpet and were not seen together all night. Rumours of their split were disclosed when they stepped out hand-in-hand at the American Music Awards two weeks ago. She then appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show where she began first avoiding the question and then finally admitting that they have not broken up. She explained, “We’re just hanging out, we’re still together.”

Other stars at the event included Bradley Cooper,  Sam Smith, Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland, Wiz Kalifa, Scott Eastwood, Arctic Monkey’s front man Alex Turner and even Larry David. The award ceremony for GQ Men of the Year was held last month on the 10th of November in Sydney, Australia.
