Festifeel 2019: Boobs, booze and bravery

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is nearly over but raising awareness for this disease doesn’t end here. We made our way to House of Vans in Waterloo for Festifeel 2019, an event hosted by CoppaFeel, one of the UK’S largest breast cancer awareness charities. See the video below to see what we got up to and what Fearne Cotton, one of CoppaFeel’s many patrons, had to say.

CoppaFeel was founded in 2009 by Kris Hallenga with the help of her twin sister. At the age of 23, Kris noticed a lump in her breast and after multiple visits to her doctor, was eventually diagnosed with incurable breast cancer. Outraged at the lack of information there is for young people about the disease,  Kris decided to take action to raise awareness and start a vital conversation.

Kris’ main mission is for people to learn from her story and to get the message out there that the sooner you get to know your boobs, the better your chance of survival is. Breast cancer is not just a disease that affects women over 40. 1 in 8 women will experience breast cancer in their lifetime and 400 men are diagnosed with it every year in the UK alone.

So get to know your boobs girls! Here are the Signs and Symptoms to look out for:
