Unique Runway was Nina Rose Events’ first ever fashion show, celebrating and promoting up-coming designers from London. The evening was filled with fun and beautiful clothes. The event also gave a platform for singer-songwriters who are just getting their start.

Nina Rose prides herself in coordinating events for entrepreneurs and young people with big ideas to network and showcase their work. Unique Runway was an inspiring show with a wide range of designers.
Taiwo Sonekan’s romantic pink, black and white collection opened the fashion show. The collection was inspired by the lyrics from Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey. As the songstress sings “Will you still love me when I’m no longer, young and beautiful? Will you love me when I’ve got nothing but my aching soul?” the models strut down the runway in beautifully crafted dramatic and feminine ensembles. The most notable thing about the collection is the use of the title of the song on the garments and the flirty pink faux fur.
Diamond Cut, showcased their urban looks at the Unique Runway show. The menswear label is a casual, everyday brand. We saw a collection of their jumpers, hoodies and hats.
Yemzi is a ready-to-wear sustainable, fairtrade, organic, ethical fashion label by British-Nigerian designer Elizabeth Akingbade. She divided her fashion show into two categories, Black label for high-street fashion and Gold label for more high-end pieces. She presented her SS16 collection of ready-to-wear sports-luxe looks. The digitally printed silk pieces looked weightless and high-end on each if the models. Yemzi’s fashion can be purchased in Asos and other boutiques.
Blaque Lipstick showed a collection of evening dresses. Each look was as sexy and risqué as the next. From a completely sheer dress to a short velvet dress with an alluring cutout in the front. The models walked the runway in this very sultry and formfitting line. The designer also took to the runway in one of her own designs. A shimmering blue leotard style dress with a floor length draping skirt.
J C Reids is another ready-to-wear menswear label with a cool urban feel.
Kyomi prides herself in making looks that are on point for your night out. The form fitting dresses showed the models’ features and curves. It was clear to see these dresses made the models feel confident and sexy as they fiercely took on the runway and showed off some of their best club dances. The most memorable outfit had to be the black vegan leather two-piece with the Fringed skirt.
Buffisha LTD is a label aimed at women and children. showed off their debut collection of skin-tight long sleeved dresses for young women who like to show off their curves.
Swag LDN caters for both men and women. They specialise in casual everyday wear. The looks were sporty and comfortable for those who have more of a relaxed style but still want to look well put together.
Pinkelz is a unisex label as well. The collection is inspired by the music scene showed scotch patterns all throughout the line. The women’s outfits ranged from jumpsuits with interesting cutouts, shorts and loose fitting bandeau to a dramatic full length dress. The alternative collection included jackets, jumpers and hoodies for the men as well as matching hats.
Sherelle Manning Designs seemed to be the most well known of the evening. Her colour blocking royal blue and black dresses with front cutouts, show-stopping jumpsuits and interesting silhouettes.
Overall, the evening was a success and enjoyable, the fashion was on point and the music was dope. Hopefully Nina Rose Event continue to host wonderful fashion events such as this one.
