Jose Mourinho returns to Stamford Bridge later on today as Manchester United manager in the Premier League.
The Portuguese manager, who’s had two successful spells at the Blue’s will return to see if his Manchester team – who sit in seventh place in the league – can edge ever closer to the top of the table. While it’s still early in the season, it’s games like these where teams look back and realise how important those three points could’ve been.
Mourinho’s admitted that he will no longer be ‘The Special One” if he fails to win any trophies at Manchester United. Earning the nickname during his three years at Chelsea from 2004 – 2007, he returned in 2013 before parting ways by “mutual consent” in 2015 because of Chelsea’s flirting with relegation. He, along with his players travel down to London looking for three points and with a win, will surely calm fans about United’s nervy start to the season. Manchester United play their third game in a week today. An unflattering goalless draw on Monday against Liverpool and a 4-1 win against Fenerbahçe in the Europa League on Thursday.
You could see why Mourinho set Man Utd up in that way vs Liverpool, but there's no need vs Chelsea. Must start Mata and go for the win.
