Egypt Restricts Number Of U.K. Rescue Flights

Brits remain stranded in Sharm El-Sheikh, as Egyptian authorities have limited the number rescue flights back to the U.K. Words: Tessa Ross, Subeditor: Grace Faulkner The first of two EasyJet flights scheduled to leave Sharm El-Sheikh has departed. But, authorities have suspended outbound flights from the U.K. to Sharm El-Sheikh. Only 339 EasyJet passengers are expected to get home today. The U.K. government cancelled flights to and from Sharm El-Sheikh on Wednesday with the fear that a Russian aircraft was brought down by a terrorist bomb. An estimated 19,000 U.K. holidaymakers are currently at the popular Egyptian resort. Many were set to return to London airports today.
