British Fashion Awards 2015: Best & Worst

It’s that time of year again when fashion’s biggest names head to London to walk the red carpet and hopefully pick up some awards. But unfortunately, not everyone managed to look their best. Take a look at our best and worst looks from last night.

Not only did the 25 year old bag the Model of the Year award last night, but she also looked amazing on the red carpet too. The two tone fitted dress did wonders for her slim figure, matched with minimal make-up and strappy heels, it really finished the look off. The thigh high slit on one side of the leg added a hint of sex appeal which worked really well with the high collar of the gown.

Red has always been a classic colour that really makes a statement whatever the occasion. Last night, Lady Gaga definitely pulled it off in Tom Ford. The bride-to-be paired the beautiful dress with a red clutch bag, high heels and netted style gloves and collar. Her nude style make-up really let the dress speak for itself, however maybe a red lip would’ve been more suited.

Of course the English model would grace the red carpet in Burberry, after appearing in many of their ad-campaigns over the years. This look was just simply stunning, her dress was just the right length and showed just the right amount of cleavage. The silver gown was perfect for this time of year and fitted perfectly with her natural hair. The decision not to include a necklace was the right one as this dress was sparkly enough on its own.

Another familiar face associated with Burberry, who knows what went through the supermodel’s head when she chose this number. The light pink skater style dress was very innocent looking and didn’t do much for her figure. However, that’s not even the biggest problem, the black lace cape that sat on top of it was a very odd choice. For us, it added nothing to the look apart from confusion. On the bright side, we do love her new haircut.

Cara’s older sister went for a peculiar look this year with pink and nude stripes. The dress, by Emilia Wickstead, was fitted at the very top but then kind of just hung on her the rest of the way down. Add to that, a strange embellished collar, pink pumps and a red lip and this look was all over the place. Not one of her finest red carpet moments.

Where to start with this ensemble? For starters, the colour wasn’t exactly flattering against her pale skin. But our main concern was the fabric, some of it is sheer, some appeared fluffy, the cut was jagged and then there’s the black ribbon hanging from the collar. We don’t know where to look first with this dress by Erdem, there’s just way too much going on.
