He has recently launched his movie “Ronaldo“, which offers a closer look into the Real Madrid star’s personal life as well as professional career as a footballer. The British documentary directed by Anthony Wonke was shot in Madeira, his birthplace, in Lisbon, where he first started playing football and in Madrid, where he currently resides. The movie contains interviews with Ronaldo himself as well as with family members. Over the course of 14 months the film-makers were able to gain access to the very private life of Christiano Ronaldo.
Voice of London Sports, had the opportunity to attend the movie premier on the 9th of November. We took part in the Guinness World Record of ‘Selfie-taking’, where Ronaldo tried to take over a hundred in three minutes, while filming and witnessing the reactions of fans from all around the world. We managed to get an interview with one of the fans, who was Spanish, and strangely even a Barcelona fan. He believes that Ronaldo is better than Messi and spoke about how he looks up to him as a role model.
The atmosphere was incredible, with many other football legends and managers present, from Gary Neville to Josè Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti to the one and only Alex Ferguson. After all, there are some rumours that he will be going back to former club, Manchester United and leaving Spain for good.
Cristiano Ronaldo, disregarding the chaos of thousands of fans trying to steal a glimpse of the superstar, was very patient and present for everyone looking to meet their favourite player, their role model or even just a player of his standard in such a big city centre like Leichester Square in London.
Before and after the movie, Ronaldo has been and still is known as the footballer with model girlfriends. Irina Shayk, Russian supermodel and actress dated the football star from 2010 to 2015.
But, word is out and speculations continue about the footballer being gay. In the seaside town of Agadir in Morocco, the Real Madrid star spent an incredible 1 million pounds to host a party for his close friends, where it has been said that another Real Madrid player attended. The Sun has reported that a French television show claimed and unveiled that Ronaldo was having a gay relationship with a Moroccan kickboxer named Badr Hari.
On the other hand, claims reveal that the two sportsmen are just friends who have only posed for several pictures together and that the claims were made “despite Ronaldo being linked with a number of beauties throughout his career”. The football sensation has admitted that ‘personal problems’ have been affecting his on-and-off performances on the field even after having scored a brilliant of four goals in the 8-0 win against Swedish team, Malmo FC. “I would prefer to keep the problems to myself – but I am in a better place now” noted CR7 after speaking to Spanish Television station, Antena 3.
