To celebrate the launch of the Chanel designer’s new website, KARL.COM, Karl Lagerfeld and artnet have partnered up for an exclusive online auction. Designed by the man himself, only three handbags are up for grabs, along with his original sketches of the designs. The bags are completely one-of-a-kind, and were hand crafted specifically for this collaboration.

Jacob Pabst, CEO of artnet, says: ”Lagerfeld has been a legendary figure of the fashion world for decades, but his talent extends well beyond his numerous collections. His fashion shows and his stores become art installations, while his drawings and his photography show us the extraordinary breadth of his talent as an artist.”

The collection contains ‘Le Spectre de la Rose’ – a small handbag which is a varnished, light pink  leather, and has Swarovski crystal and pearl embellishments. The second, ‘City Butterfly’, is a fusion of metallic bronze leather and luxe black shearling. And the third, a brown, violet and fuchsia suede silhouette-style bag, named ‘Crescendo’. All come with their own hand-drawn and signed designs, which are extremely rare and are pieces of art themselves.

Artnet is hosting the online auction, which began on the 5th November and finishes tomorrow, 10th November 2015, at 12.00pm (EST). The current bid on each handbag is $5,000 – so if you fancy it, good luck and happy bidding!
