Shoot The Hip @ The Camden Head

Angel, N1 8DY

Monday 27th November

Everyone hates Mondays. Or they did until they heard about the side-splitting stand-up comedy at The Camden Head. ‘Shoot The Hip’ are a London-based comedy group whose shows are completely unscripted, and free every Monday at 8pm. Audiences are advised to arrive half an hour early as spaces are allocated on a first come first served basis.

Voice of London recommend spending this time productively in the pub’s beer-garden.

The Play Space presents Episode 7 – Sustainable Art @ The Flying Dutchman

Camberwell, SE5 7SY

Tuesday 28th November

The Flying Dutchman is an old pub that went under full refurbishment to become a hidden gem of the South-East art scene. Different from your average boozer, the pub is regularly used for private exhibitions and networking events during the week. Come the weekend, there’s fetish parties on Fridays and dance nights on Saturdays.

The basement of the building is home to The Flying Dutchman’s latest initiative, ‘The Play Space’. This ongoing event welcomes artists and creators of all kinds to use the room for collaboration and discovery. Come along this Tuesday to view submissions related to sustainability from textile creator Sian Dorman, and see a live performance from Joonhong Min. From 6-10.30pm.

BYOV (Bring Your Own Vinyl) @ The Nines

Peckham, SE15 3SN

Thursday 30th November

Thursdays are the new Fridays in London.

By no circumstance does this mean wasting time or money in a club. Those on the hunt for alternative merry-making should stop and make their way to the BYOV Night at The Nines.

The concept is this: bring some records and a few bob for charity to learn how to mix with Grace, the bars very own ‘in-house vinyl nerd’. All genres of music are welcome so take the chance to listen to something new for a good cause.

The wax spinning won’t begin until 8, but arrive between 6-7pm to get 2 cocktails or 3 beers for just £9.
