  1. De-puff bags

Waking up with puffy eyes is the worst and makes your makeup look awful. You can drain the morning puffiness with a cool shot, submerge your face in ice cubes and cucumber (Kate Moss trick), dabbing cold eye drops around the eye area also gets rid of the puffiness. Or you can choose the tea bag method. You dip the tea bag in hot water and then take the tea bag out of the water to cool for five to ten minutes. Place the tea bags on your eyes for five minutes and rinse eyes with cold water.

  2.  Brighten dark circles

Dark circles need brightening in order to enhance the eye area. You can use colour correct dark circles with an illuminating concealer a shade slightly lighter than the foundation you use. L’Oreal Paris Touche Magique Illuminating concealer (£8.19) is recommended and affordable. Remember, in order to brighten up your face the right way, take it down to your cheek in a ‘V’ shape.

  3.  Long eyelashes

Long eyelashes using mascara or eye lash curlers instantly lifts lashes and therefore widens your eyes. Our favourite mascara is Urban Decay (£22) and curlers are by Shu Uemura (£20). Expensive, yes but they’ll keep your lashes looking flawless.

  4. Brighten the waterline

As black liner inside the lower eyelid is known to make your eyes look smaller, a brightening neutral shade will open them. It doesn’t necessarily have to be white eyeliner; a creamy flesh-coloured tone will conceal redness infallibly. KIKO waterproof Kohl in white or nude (£3.99)

  5.  Contour the crease

Contouring your eyelids to give them a secret enhanced shape. Use an eyeshadow slightly darker than your natural skin tone along the crease of your eyelid. Follow with darker or a lighter colour eyeshadow, depending on the look you are going for.

  6.  Highlight the inner corner

Apply a light shadow or highlighter in the inner corner of your eyelids and below the arches of your eyebrow. You will instantly notice a difference, this makes your eyes appear wider and brightens them up.

  7.  Liquid eyeliner

Liquid eyeliner enhances the eye dramatically. Draw your line as close to the upper lash line as possible and do not enclose your eyes by lining all the way around, especially towards the bottom. Gradually increase the thickness towards the outer corner. Apply a flick and your eyes will look on fleek.
