Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the spooky season can’t be celebrated in a conventional way this year. This doesn’t mean that you can’t celebrate at all, here’s some socially safe alternatives which still mean you can have a freaky time!

  1. Kiss Haunted House Party

Normally hosted in Wembley, the 2020 Kiss Halloween party is still going ahead, but this year it is from the comfort of your own home. The event starts at 6pm on Saturday night and is being streamed on Kiss, Kisstory and Kiss Fresh. Enjoy live performances from the likes of Becky Hill, Joel Corry and Dizzee Rascal plus a few surprise guest acts. If you’re in Tier 1, enjoy the party with up to six friends indoors or outdoors. For those in Tier 2 or 3 enjoy the night with members of your household whether it be your mum or your cat. Although it’s not the same, it will guarantee you a banging night, and look on the bright side, there’s no taxi fare to pay at the end of the night! Check out the full details here

2. Forbidden Forest Cinema

Ready for a scream at the screen? The Forbidden Forest cinema has screenings of some of the scariest movies of all up, showing up until the 8th November. The pop-up is located in Peckham (the closest station is Peckham Rye), enjoy viewings of Cabin in the Woods, The Shining and It. Too much of a scaredy-cat for those titles, more light-hearted films such as Hocus pocus and Ghostbusters are also on offer; so there’s something for everyone. Best be quick, as The Forest vanishes on the 8th November. Book tickets here

4. Pumpkin picking

Continuing the pumpkin theme, pumpkin picking has become an increasingly popular trend in recent years. As well as the appeal of a nice day out, a few Instagram pictures can’t go a miss either. Although there are no pumpkin farms in London specifically, there are some locations close enough to the capital to entice you to take up the opportunity. These include Crockford Bridge Farm and Priory Farm both in Surrey and Four Winds Farm in Kent.
